Commissioning a Lunar Custom Snare Drum

I built unique one-off custom instruments with distinct voices for individual players.

Except for a few exceptions, most people  ordered a drum from us after playing one.

This of course is not possible if you live far away or on another continent.

We do sent instrument out to test drive under certain conditions.

For most players because of the cost, this is a once in a life time drum purchase ( well there is one fellow with 2 Lunars)

And I can fully appreciate the reluctance to order a drum of that expense on faith alone.

There I offer a right of refusal.

Terms

Regardless whether you had the chance to test-drive one of our instruments or not.

We take 1/2 down to start the instrument.

We will bill you in full after we completed the shell and expect payment before we send it to you.

Should the drum not exceed or not meet your full expectations, you can  notify us via email  within 7 days after you received the instrument  and let us know that you want to return it.

This is a no hassles return option.

After it arrives back with us in the same condition that we sent it out to you, we will refund you in full immediately sans shipping cost to and from.

This gives you 7 days in your own drumming environment to confirm your decision to invest into a Lunar Custom Snare.

Though I have never had a return in last 12 years,

there is always a first,

and therefore can't help crossing my thumbs, hoping to have met expectations.

Additionally, I prefer to send the shell out set up and tuned in an FF fitting.

Even if you already have fitting.

This give me the opportunity me to present the instruments correctly from the gitgo and you to experience it the way it is supposed to be

If you do not have an FF yet , this is actually an advantage because you will not have purchased the fitting before you get the shell  and can take full advantage of your right to refusal.

NOTE

Many people will initially ask for a 5" net shell 6,5 in the Pearl FF, especially if they have never test driven any of our snares  because they want a deeper fuller sounding instrument.

Fearing that the 4" net shell , 5" in the ff would be the lesser instrument.

Because of their unique design Lunar Customs do not play like a 4 net shell you have ever encountered. 

Especially the mango version will have a lower fundamental pitch, fullness power and body then most 8" deep shells.

Without having to give up the fast response and sensitivity indicative of a shorter shell.

In my opinion,  The 4" net is the better shell
